The 9A35M STRELA 10 firing command system is a part of the 9K35M STRELA-10M (S-10M) anti-aircraft rocket group. It is used as a command vehicle for another 3 identically designed 9A34M systems. The complete 9K35M STRELA-10M anti-aircraft rocket grouping, whose NATO code is SA-13 GOPHER, is supplemented by vehicles with other technical equipment. Each firing unit can operate independently, without the command and supplementary vehicles. The 9A35M fire command system is mounted on a MT-LB vehicle chassis, its performance and excellent off-road capability are identical. The vehicle is driven by a JaMZ 238 engine whose performance is 179 kW, it is amphibious. The body contains shooting control devices, automatic homing equipment and other elements for seeking out targets and subsequent firing. The missiles are shot from containers (reserve missiles are stored in the body) placed on a construction mounted on the rotating superstructure. In the superstructure there is a gunner’s post with a look-out hatch with an optical sighting device.
